On May 30, the first episode of the large-scale documentary "Li Shutong," co-produced by the Propaganda Department of the Pinghu Municipal Party Committee and Zhejiang Radio & Television Group, premiered on Zhejiang Satellite TV and Z Vision. Following the premiere, it received numerous online views and garnered much praise. "The content is historically accurate and worth watching," "Well-produced, leaving me wanting more," "The first episode explores the young Li Shutong; I look forward to the story of his career success and subsequent entry into Buddhism," "His patriotic spirit and concern for the people, along with his handling of material and spiritual matters, have a cleansing effect on today's society," "The titles of the three episodes are derived from the last eight verses of Master Hongyi's life, which is surprising and delightful" – through comments and other means, many citizens have provided feedback on the documentary. The first episode, "What Should I Do," is nearly 55 minutes long and begins with one of Li Shutong's diary-style calligraphy works, "Fasting Diary." It explains the character development of the master during his youth and early adulthood, showcasing an unfamiliar side of Li Shutong to the public and laying the groundwork for the subsequent two episodes, which will discuss his artistic achievements and spiritual world. As the only school in the country named after the master, the students of Shutong Elementary School watched the documentary immediately. "The film is excellently produced and meticulously tells the life story of Li Shutong, holding great educational significance," commented Gao Fei, Director of Moral Education at Shutong Elementary School. He added that the school's motto is "Be earnest in all things, advance bravely," and that the master's personality and universal values are profoundly reflected in the documentary. It is reported that the documentary "Li Shutong" consists of three episodes. The subsequent episodes, "Spring Blossoms on Branches" and "Full Moon in the Heart," will be available on Z Vision at 12:00 PM on June 6 and June 13, respectively, and will be broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV at 9:40 PM on the same days. These are highly anticipated. |
