Pinghu Lake is located in the East China Sea, located in the northeast of Zhejiang Province, "Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Ningbo" four cities rhombohedral diagonal meeting point, north of Shanghai, south of Hangzhou Bay. The city has a land area of 557 square kilometers, a sea area of 1,070 square kilometers, and a coastline of 27 kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 3 streets, with a registered population of 517,800 and a permanent population of 692,200.  Pinghu is one of the top 100 counties with national comprehensive strength and one of the first 17 strong counties and cities in Zhejiang Province to expand the economic management authority. In 2023, the city's GDP will reach 100.87 billion yuan, total fiscal revenue 15.14 billion yuan, general public budget revenue 8.9 billion yuan, and per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents will reach 78,218 yuan and 50,249 yuan respectively.
