      Located in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta with four large-sized cities (Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Ningbo) surrounding it, all about 90 km in reach, Pinghu enjoys efficient transport. 3 international airports, namely Hongqiao Airport and Putong Airport in Shanghai and Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou are nearby within one-hour drive.

      The Hu(Shanghai)-Hang (Hangzhou)-Yong (Ningbo) Expressway has exit and entrance respectively in the west and north of Pinghu. The Zha(pu)-Jia(xing)-Su(zhou) Expressway goes across Pinghu while the Connection route of Cross-Hangzhou Bay Bridge and the Hang(Hangzhou)-Pu(Pudong) Expressway have respectively one and three exit- and-entrances in Pinghu City or nearby.

      Zhapu Port, the only import & export port in the north of Zhejiang Province and a state first-grade opening port, is situated in Pinghu. With eight docks at 10 thousand tons level and another four docks at 1 thousand tons level, the port now have a comprehensive berth capacity of 15 million tons per year.

      Pinghu is connected to Huangpujiang River in Shanghai and the Jing(Beijing)-Hang(Hangzhou) Canal through Lu-Ping-Shen grade-five ship channel and Zha(Zhapu)-Jia(Jiaxing)-Su(Suzhou) 300 ton-level ship channel. The road transit of Pinghu is also well developed. Currently, Inter-province coaches and province express buses are available linking Pinghu with Shanghai (including Fengjing, Fengxian, Songjiang, Zhujing, Qingpu and Shihua), Jiangsu(including Nanjing, Wuxi, Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Changzhou, Yancheng, Huaian, Kunshan, Changshu and Yangzhou), Jiaxing, Haining, Haiyang, Tongxiang, etc.
