We(Pinghu City)established friendly exchange relationship with Sunnyvale on December 3,2002.

Sunnyvale is located in the west of California State,44 miles to the south of San Francisco and 360 miles to the north of Los Angeles.It has an area of 24 square miles and a population of 134,000,which make it the 5th largest city in San Francisco Bay.With an altitude of 100 to 150 feet,Sunnyvale enjoys a Mediterranean climate.

The favorable location in Silicon Valley has provided Sunnyvale with a vibrant business environment.The city now boasts various industrial bases including aerospace,electronics,and computer software and hardware companies.

We established friendly exchange relationship with Fuchu on May 25,2004.

Fuchu is located in the south-eastern inland area of Hiroshima Prefecture.It has a population of 47,477 and an area of 110.18 square kilometers,most of which is mountainous region.It is surrounded by mountains on three sides,forming a basin of it.The Ashida River,one of the three major rivers in Hiroshima,runs through the city from the northwest to the southeast.There is a vast plain on both sides of the Ashida River.

Fuchu enjoys a convenient traffic.One can go to Tokyo and Aomori from the east,to Hakata and Kagoshima from the west,to Matsue and Yonago from the north and to Kochi from the south.

Since the establishment as a city,Fuchu develops to be a garden city,dedicated to the traditional industry such as the foundry products.Later,in compliance with the trend of the times and under the persistent support from all enterprises,Fuchu has also made amazing development in the modern industries such as the non-ferrous die-casting products,construction machines and chucks used in machine tools.

Obama,located in the south-west of Fukui Prefecture(in central Japan)and to the north of the National Park Wakasa Bay,is an important port and seaside tourism city in Japan.To the south is a mountain range which runs from east to west and it connects Kyoto in the north and borders Fukui and Shiga prefecture.Obama has an area of 232.85 square kilometers and a population of 33127.It enjoys a warm climate and stable seasons.

Obama is known as iketsukuni,which supplied food to the imperial court in ancient times.Obama has inherited this traditional and rich catering culture and has well developed its agriculture,forestry and fisheries.In recent years,Obama has made more efforts in developing itself into a city for food lovers.Since Obama and Pinghu City share the common catering culture and close relationship in business investment,our city has become the second Chinese city(after Xi’’an in Shanxi Province)to establish friendly exchange relationship with Obama.

Watsonville,a rich agricultural community whose agricultural output ranks the 5th in California,is famous for its strawberries,apples and fresh flowers.The thriving agriculture also promotes the development of local food processing industry.Now,Watsonville food processors freeze and distribute more fruits and vegetables than any other single area in the United States.Agriculture and food processing industry has become its pillar industries.

Watsonville has its own airport,garbage disposal plants,sewage treatment plants and water supply systems.
