
Basic advantage
Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1996 and upgraded to a national economic and technological development zone in January 2013. The development zone has been established as the core area of the National Torch Plan Pinghu Optical-electro-mechanical Industry Base, the National (Jiaxing) Electromechanical Component Industrial Park, the National level Ecological Street, the Japanese Investment Zone approved by the provincial government, the provincial-level demonstration base for foreign investment of emerging industries, the provincial pilot development zone for deepened reform of key areas, Chinese auto parts industry manufacture base, Zhejiang Sino-Japan (Pinghu) industrial cooperation park, and was recognized by the People's Daily as the most popular Chinese development zone with Japanese Enterprises, and the national level transformation and upgrading demonstration development zone of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. etc., and continuously has been labeled as the "double top ten" for use of foreign capital and for foreign trade of import and export for more than ten years. The regional planning area is 65 square kilometers, and currently more than 1,000 enterprises have settled in the zone, among which there are more than 300 foreign-owned enterprises and 25 Fortune Global 500 enterprises.
Two pillar industries
The advanced high-tech manufacturing industry is the first pillar industry of Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone as well as Pinghu City. In 2017, Zhejiang Science and Technology Department and Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission officially approved and agreed to establish“Pinghu Advanced & Intelligent Manufacturing High-tech Industry Park, which is dominated by the core area of Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone and the core area of Zhangjiang Yangtze River Delta Sci-Tech City (Pinghu Sci-Tech Park). The total area of the planned park is 12.8 square kilometers. The south region is the core area of Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone with a planned area of 7.14 square kilometers, which focuses on the development of two dominant industries: the advanced equipment manufacturing industry , which is mainly about auto parts and intelligent manufacturing equipment; and the biotechnology(food) industry which is mainly about biomedicine and healthy products. The establishment of this provincial high-tech zone will lead the whole city to achieve a leap from "Pinghu Manufacture" to "Pinghu Intelligent Manufacture".
In 2014, Biotechnology (Food) Industrial Park has been appraised as Zhejiang Foreign Investment Emerging Industry Demonstration Base. At present, there are many Fortune Global 500 and industry leading enterprises in the park, such as Japan Nisshin, House, Linghua, Morinaga, Cargill, ADM, France Mane, Korea CJ, Thailand Chia Tai, Danish Crown etc., as well as many other well-known domestic enterprises such as Shapuaisi , BLG, INM, BioAsia Pharmaceutical, CXC Food etc.

Zhejiang Sino-Japan (Pinghu) Industrial Cooperation Park
In September 2015, as the only Japanese enterprises investment park approved by the provincial government and the largest Japan-funded enterprises gathering place in Northern Zhejiang, Sino-Japan (Pinghu) Industrial Cooperation Park was successfully selected into the list of first batch of Zhejiang International Industrial Cooperation Park. There are nearly 100 Japan-funded enterprises has settled in the cooperative park, include many well-known multinational companies and Fortune 500 companies,such as Nidec, Precision Tsugami, JFE, Kobe Steel, Marubeni, Itochu, Nissin Food, and House Curry, and thereinto, the value of gross output of Japan Nidec Group has exceeded 10 billion yuan. Meanwhile, Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone was awarded the honor of “The Most Popular Development Zone for Japanese Enterprises”by People’s Daily.
European (Germany) Industrial Park
The planned area of Pinghu Economic and Technological Development Zone European (Germany) Industrial Park is 2.4 square kilometers, up to now, there are 32 Germany enterprises have been settled in the park such as Thyssen Krupp, Viessmann, Hirschvogel, Wackerneuson etc., the total number of euramerican enterprises is more than 50, and the total investment is nearly US 1 billion. With the approval of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the European (German) Industrial Park has become an important part of the province’s first approved Sino-German middle and small-sized enterprises cooperation zone.
